Therapy of choice for complicated hemangiomas in infancy is orally administered propranolol in a dose of 1-3 mg/kg/day. We reporton two patients who developed symptomatic hypoglycemia and one patient experiencing seizures most likely associated withhypoglycemia. Oral propranolol therapy for the treatment of infantile hemangioma was administered to all three patients. Althoughpropranolol is used in other indications and seems to be a safe drug, due to its non-selectiveness it is necessary to recognize thepossible less common side eff ects such as hypoglycemia, especially when administered for a new indication, such as treatment ofinfantile hemangiomas in the stage of proliferative growth.
