Sažetak

Influenza viruses are spread worldwide, and due to their very easy and rapid dissemination, they eventually cause pandemic disease as well as minor or major epidemics every winter. Influenza viruses cause predominantly respiratory illness accompanied by systemic symptoms, but are also responsible for numerous complications. The aim of the study was to describe clinical characteristics of influenza A/B in our patients presenting with neurologic symptoms and hospitalized at Neuropediatric Department, Sestre milosrdnice University Hospital Center from January 2008 to April 2011, and at the same time to raise general awareness of the neurologic complications of influenza in children.
